News and Achievements

This year, 5 students from the College of Science have been admitted into the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme with Columbia University.YAO Heyuan, a student from Computing Mathematics shared with us, “I am really excited, delighted and honoured for being admitted to the programme and can enjoy my undergraduate studies in two charming and excellent universities. I look forward to the upcoming opportunities and challenges from a new environment. It will be an unforgettable experience in my life!”

A delegation of 15 members from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) led by Mr. Ricky Chan and Mr. Anthony Lam, Deputy Chairmen of FHKI, visited College of Science on 2 February 2021.

Professor Xunli Wang, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Physics, delivered a talk titled “Neutron Scattering – A giant microscope” at CityU’s BOLD Forum.

Professor Xunli Wang, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Physics, has been awarded the Croucher Senior Research Fellowship 2021 for his excellent scientific research achievements.

Giselle Chow Tsz Wing, a year-4 student from the Department of Chemistry, has been awarded the Champion of “Camera! Film a Science Video Competition”.

Professor Lee Chun Sing, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Chemistry, has received The President’s Award 2020 for his exemplary contributions to research and professional education, that helped the University achieve local and global distinctions.
