Organised by the Liu Bie Ju Centre for Mathematical Sciences under CSCI, the International Conference on Applied Mathematics 2026 presented the prestigious 2026 William Benter Prize in Applied Mathematics.
Around 80 CSCI freshmen kicked off their university journey on 24 August and attended the College Orientation at CityUHK.
Professor Jiarui Yang, Global Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry under CSCI, has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026 in the Healthcare & Science category.
A research project led by Professor Xun-li Wang received HK$50 million under the Research Grants Council’s Areas of Excellence Scheme.
Professor Hua Zhang from the Department of Chemistry has secured HK$39.64 million grants under the Research Grants Council’s Theme-based Research Scheme.

More than 20 secondary school students from different backgrounds had a taste of being a university student at the Rising STARs Science Camp 2026, a 5-day summer programme organised by CSCI from 20 to 24 July.
