To strengthen the bonding between undergraduate students, mentors and teachers, the College of Science (CSCI) organised a networking BBQ at Ma On Shan on 22 March 2025. Before having fun at the BBQ, the group were offered a tour of CityUHK’s brand-new Student Residence, Lee Shau Kee Student Residence Village at Whitehead.
The State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (SKLMP) under the College of Science (CSCI), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) was awarded the “2024 Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology Progress Award (2nd Class)” by the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society.
Delegates of the College of Science (CSCI)’s Master’s programmes shared admission tips at online information sessions held on 13 March 2025 and 20 November 2024. Current Master’s students and programme graduates also shared their learning experience at CityUHK with the prospective Mainland students.
Professor Condon Lau, Associate Professor from the Department of Physics, was awarded the newly added CityUHK Teaching Excellence Award for “Digital Learning” this year in recognition of his use of digital tools to enhance the student learning experience.
On 13 February, the College of Science (CSCI) management team met with the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) delegation to discuss and explore further collaboration opportunities.
Beating the strong teams, three F.3 girls from St. Stephen’s Girls’ College crowned the Gold Award at the Final Pitch of the CityUHK Science Patent Challenge 2024- 25 held on 15 February. This year’s Gold and Silver Award-winning teams observed the needs of the elderly and patients respectively, and tried to utilise technology to enhance their quality of life.
