To strengthen the sense of belonging of undergraduate students with the colleges, the College of Science (CSCI) has established its Student Chapter in 2020. It consists of students from CSCI departments. While the core group of students in the Student Chapter will help organize educational enrichment activities for their fellow students, they will also have the opportunity to develop their leadership abilities and interpersonal skills through assisting various College events. In the coming year, the Student Chapter will organize a variety of activities to let you explore career aspirations, soft skills, and academic research interests, etc. Stay tuned and hope to see you in the coming activities!

Chinese New Year Celebration

The CSCI Student Chapter hosted a joyous gathering at the Lantern Festival.
 
Spreading Good Fortune and Sweet Delights: Prof. Thuc Hue Ly and Prof. Jon Lo, Student Chapter Advisors, surprised participants with lucky red pockets filled with chocolates during the Chinese New Year Celebration event.

 

Participants played an icebreaker game about the origin of the Chinese New Year.
Prof. Jon Lo and Prof. YU Wing Chi, Student Chapter Advisors, presented prizes to the winners.
Participants enjoyed the Origami Workshop and made “Red Packet Lantern” together.
Participants posed with their well-crafted lanterns.
A moment of joy and happiness was captured during the Fai Chun writing session.

Towngas staff showed students various innovations constructed by their engineers.

CLP staff described the work of their engineers to students through operating a simple demo.
Students had a Visual Reality (VR) experience of climbing electric pole to remove dangerous things like beehives/kites.
