CityUHK COM PhD Admissions 2027/28

Are you interested in advancing research in Communication Studies? The Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) invites applications for the 2027/28 Doctor of Philosophy in Media and Communication programme. We welcome candidates keen to explore the following research areas:
  • Computational Communication
  • Digital Media Technology & Social Impacts
  • Health Communication
  • Meta-Evaluation and Research Integration
  • Strategic Communication

Application Requirement
  • BA, MA, or MPhil degree from a recognized university;
  • Strong GPA (over 3.5 out of 4; or total marks of over 85 out of 100);
  • Publications in recognized journals would be an advantage

Successful applicants will benefit from generous studentships covering tuition and providing a stipend (approximately HK$28,700 per month for HKPFS awardees and HK$19,100 per month for others) over four years. The Department also offers additional research and travel support, along with professional development workshops and events for our PhD students.
