Two COM Faculty Members Named Among the World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists 2026 by Stanford University

The Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is proud to announce that Professor Guanxiong Huang and Ki Joon Kim, have been named to the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List for 2026, announced in October. 

Professor Kim has received this recognition for seven consecutive years, since the list was first released in 2020. He said, “Although I am based in a media and communication department, I have ranked 2nd or 3rd in Asia every year in the field of human factors (psychology and cognitive sciences). Such recognition would not have been possible without our Department's strong support for interdisciplinary research that extends beyond the traditional boundaries of communication. I look forward to contributing further to CityUHK's research excellence.” 

Professor Huang said, “I’m deeply honoured to receive this recognition. I would like to thank my mentors, collaborators, students, and the many brilliant fellow researchers whose work has inspired me. This recognition encourages me to continue producing rigorous research that helps us better understand how media technologies shape people’s lives and society.”
