08 Oct 2026 (Thu)

The Department of Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) welcomed more than 3,500 prospective students to its Undergraduate Info Day on 3 October 2026. Professors Seungsu Lee, Vincent Wang, Ki Joon Kim, and Mr. Sunny Chan introduced students to the BA in Media and Communication and the BA in Digital Television and Broadcasting programs, and shared information about exchange and internship opportunities.

"The informative session for the undergraduate program is tailored to provide prospective students with a comprehensive understanding of our innovative offerings focused on media and communication. We are confident in our ability to attract future media professionals to join our department and achieve their career aspirations," said Professor Seungsu Lee, Program Leader of the Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication.

In addition to the information session, the department also opened access to professional teaching facilities such as the Omnimedia Digital Newsroom, 3-D Virtual TV Studio, and Advertising Design & Shooting Studio. These facilities provided the public with hands-on experience of the learning environment for Media and Communication students at the university.

Our COM student ambassadors have showcased how to use facilities like the teleprompter and video camera, simulating the daily learning process in news reporting and videography courses. “It is quite attractive, especially for secondary school students. Most of them have no idea how to launch a TV news story. We believe this kind of experience is essential for exploring their interest in the media and communication fields,” said Nemo Fung, Year 4 student of the Bachelor Programme in Media and Communication.
