Delegation Visit by Tianjin University

Last week, faculty members from the School of New Media and Communication at Tianjin University (TJU) visited the Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). They participated in an academic meeting and conducted a workshop with COM faculty members and PhD students.





The delegation from TJU included Mr Li Jiayi, Secretary of the School Party Committee, Prof Shao Minglai, Head of Intelligent Communication, Prof Lu Jiahui, Head of Journalism and Communication, Prof. Zhang Shouxin, Deputy Head of Journalism and Communication, and Research Fellow Ms Wang Lanjun. The visit focused on fostering collaborative opportunities between TJU and CityUHK, particularly in academic research and postgraduate programs.





During discussions, our faculty members shared insights on cultivating versatile communicators skilled in digital media. Participants from CityUHK COM included Head and Chair Professor Yi-Hui Christine Huang, Chair Professor Shuhua Zhou, Associate Professor Crystal Jiang, and Assistant Professor Vincent Wang.

Following the meeting, the TJU delegation organized a mini-workshop aimed at enhancing communication with COM PhD students. This session provided valuable guidance to our students as they continue pursuing excellence in their academic endeavors.
