Delegation Visit by Phoenix TV

On 24 April 2026, the Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) hosted a distinguished meeting with representatives from Phoenix TV.

The Phoenix TV delegation included Mr. Sun Yusheng, Executive Director, Executive Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and Editor-in-Chief; Mr. Huang Haibo, Deputy Head of Phoenix Chinese Channel, Director of the Chief Editor's Office, and Head of Phoenix Movie Channel; and Ms. Li Jing, Vice-Director of the Chief Editor's Office.





During the meeting, both parties engaged in discussions on how emerging technologies are reshaping the communication landscape, particularly in relation to digital media and television broadcasting. In addition, they explored collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing strategic planning efforts between Phoenix TV and COM. Representing COM were Prof. Yi-Hui Christine Huang, Head and Chair Professor; Prof. Fen Lin, Associate Vice-President (Global Strategy) and Professor; Chair Professor Shuhua Zhou; Associate Professor Crystal Jiang; and Assistant Professor Vincent Wang.



To gain a deeper understanding of the academic environment and facilities, the delegation also visited several professional labs, including the Omnimedia Digital Newsroom, the 3-D Virtual TV Studio, the Advertising Design & Shooting Studio, and the Digital Broadcasting Recording Room.
