24 Mar 2026 (Tue)

On 16 March 2026, Professor Hongjun Zhang from Nanjing University delivered a seminar entitled “Constructing the Communication Dimension of China’s Narrative System (構建中國敘事體系的傳播學向度)”.

In the seminar, Professor Zhang highlighted the significance of building a conceptual network with communicative awareness, which provides the content foundation for the global dissemination of China’s narrative system through a network of core concepts that are both original and metaphorically rich. He further demonstrated how omni-media narrative practice enhances the communicative efficacy of China’s narrative system through an integrated media environment that incorporates both digital logic and convergence logic. Professor Zhang emphasized that this approach enables the Chinese narrative system not only to provoke communicative potential at the textual level but also to overcome dissemination barriers in practice.

Faculty members and doctoral students from the Department of Media and Communication attended the session, engaging in a lively and intellectually stimulating discussion during which Professor Zhang responded thoughtfully to questions and shared valuable insights, creating a highly engaging academic exchange.

Hongjun Zhang is a Professor at Nanjing University, Executive Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, and Chairman of the Zijin Media Think Tank. His main research areas include media convergence, film and television communication, and cultural studies.
