Two COM Professors Win CLASS Knowledge Transfer Awards

The Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong is thrilled to announce that Associate Professors Edmund Lee and Li Crystal Jiang have been honored in the CLASS Awards 2025/26, organized by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS). Prof. Lee earned the Excellence in Knowledge Transfer Award, and Prof. Jiang received the Certificate of Merit.
Prof. Lee’s project, titled “Advancing Inclusive Gerontechnologies: Co-Creating Wearable Gloves and Exergames for Active Ageing in Hong Kong and Singapore,” aims to develop digital health technologies such as exergames, AI-powered health app for continuous monitoring, and wearable gloves, in partnership with older adults and elderly centres. This remarkable initiative earned him the Excellence in Knowledge Transfer Award. “This award is a testament to the unwavering support of our department and CityUHK's vision to harness digital health technologies as a force for social good, empowering older adults to age successfully. It reflects how academic insights can reach beyond the lab when researchers, communities, and institutions align and commit to making technology accessible and fun for older adults.” Prof Lee said.
Meanwhile, Prof. Jiang’s research focused on combating anti-scam issues through Xiaohongshu promotion. The project title is “2025 Xiaohongshu Anti-Scam Project.” Her dedicated efforts were recognized with the Certificate of Merit.” I’m truly honored to receive the Knowledge Transfer Award — this recognition belongs to the entire supporting team.
