MA Students & Alumni Dinner Gathering 2026

On 2 March 2026, the Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong organized the MA Students & Alumni Dinner Gathering at the City Chinese Restaurant. More than 100 faculty members, alumni, and students reunited as a part of the COM family to participate in various activities, including Alumni Sharing, Lucky Draw, and Interactive Games with professors, enjoying a fruitful evening and creating memorable moments together.

Prof. Yi-Hui Christine Huang, Head of COM, delivered a welcoming remark to the audience, stating, "This is the first time we are holding a dinner gathering that includes faculty, alumni, and students, especially during the Chinese New Year. We hope everyone achieves success in the Year of the Horse!" Mr. Haosen Sun, Secretary of Affairs for the Department of Media and Communication Alumni Association (CITYUCOMAA), encouraged both alumni and current students to actively participate in events hosted by CITYUCOMAA. He also mentioned their plans to expand sub-executive teams within mainland China.

17 master’s students received awards for the Entrance Scholarship and the Outstanding Student Award in the MA Programme in Communication and New Media as well as the MA Programme in Integrated Marketing Communication. Notably, Feng Huanzhe and Hong Yiting were recognized with first place in the Outstanding Student Award category, each receiving a prize of HK$50,000.

Ms. Vivian Lau, Founder of Intelligent Joy Limited, shared her inspiring success story and career journey.

The gathering also featured alumni sharing their stories. Ms. Vivian Lau, Founder of Intelligent Joy Limited and Chairperson of CITYUCOMAA, and Ms. Xi Wu, Senior Editor of Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group Limited, highlighted their career paths and encouraged master's students to pursue academic excellence.

To mark the Chinese New Year celebration, seven full-time faculty members prepared meaningful prizes for the lucky draw and participated in interactive games with attendees. Together, they created a memorable and enjoyable evening.
