COM Research Seminar: Multi-studies on Online Flow Experience

On November 24, 2025, Prof. Fiona Nah, Professor of Information Systems at Singapore Management University, delivered a research seminar titled “Multi-studies on Online Flow Experience”. Prof. Nah’s research spans human-computer interaction, computer-mediated communication, human-AI collaboration, NeuroIS, and the metaverse.
 
During the seminar, Prof. Nah presented a series of empirical studies on flow in human-computer interaction, along with her ongoing work in this domain. Her research advances academic understanding of the antecedents and consequences of online flow, extends the nomological network of the flow construct, and identifies distinctive EEG patterns associated with flow states that can serve as objective benchmarks for assessing flow experiences.



As a former faculty member in the Department of Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong, Prof. Nah contributed valuable insights on future research directions to attendees, including our faculty members, part-time lecturers, doctoral students, and visiting scholars. She also engaged in discussions exploring potential collaborations with our department.
