Post-conference Presentation by PhD students 2025

On November 17, 2025, the Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) successfully held its annual post-conference seminar, featuring research presentations by five doctoral students. The work showcased had previously been presented at prestigious international conferences, including the International Communication Association (ICA) and the International Conference on Computational Social Science (IC2S2).
The seminar covered a diverse range of topics, spanning Films Evaluation and Online Engagement in Dating Shows, Gender Gaps in International Academic Mobility, Subjective Well-Being Disparities Between LGBs and Heterosexuals, Trust in Government-Public Relationships, To Viral Gender Antagonism on Social Media.
Faculty members, fellow PhD candidates, and scholars from related disciplines have participated in the presentation. Prof. Xinzhi Zhang, Associate Professor of COM, have reviewed the student’s research findings and offered some valuable insights to enhance their presentation skills and research.
The department’s dedication to this seminar session provided an excellent platform for the presenters to share their innovative findings, receive detailed feedback, and engage in in-depth discussions about methodological advancements, theoretical implications, and potential directions for future research.
