CityUHK COM Scholar Dr Huanyu Bao Honoured at RGC Award Presentation Ceremony

Dr. Huanyu Bao, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) attended the Research Grants Council (RGC) Award Presentation Ceremony on 3 November. This notable event celebrated exceptional research accomplishments and significant contributions to advancing higher education in Hong Kong.
 
Bringing together distinguished scholars from the eight universities funded by the University Grants Committee (UGC), the ceremony also marked the launch of the Hong Kong Research Grants Council Research Fellow Alliance (HKRFA). This initiative aims to promote collaboration and enhance the global influence of Hong Kong's research excellence.
 
Dr. Bao was recognized as one of the RGC Junior Research Fellow Scheme (JRFS) awardees, and notably, the only recipient from City University of Hong Kong under the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Business Studies panel.
 
Currently based in the Department of Media and Communication, Dr. Bao is working with Associate Professor Edmund Lee on developing an aging-friendly digital health application. The project integrates smart devices such as wearable bands, sensory gloves, and VR-based games to empower older adults and promote physical and mental well-being through innovative, technology-enhanced health communication strategies.
