Chloe (second from the right) has won the gold medal in the Women's Team Sabre event.
Lau Yee Ching (Chloe), a Year 3 BATVB student from the Department of Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong, won a gold medal representing Hong Kong in the Women's Team Sabre event at the Asian U23 Fencing Championships in Malaysia last weekend.
“It was my first-ever Asian U23 competition to compete against such talented fencers. I feel grateful to win a gold medal with my wonderful teammates. With the new season starting next month, I hope to maintain this momentum and aim to qualify for the main rounds of competitions. Additionally, my short-term goal is to perform well in the National Games next month, where I hope we can achieve a medal in front of the Hong Kong audience,” said Chloe.
As one of the elite student athletes in CityUHK, Chloe is also a part of the Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission (SALSA) Scheme.
In addition to fostering academic excellence, COM also encourages talented athlete students to join its programs.
