Our Faculty Member Named Among World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists 2025

The Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is proud to announce that Associate Professor Ki Joon Kim has been named one of the World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists for 2025, according to the prestigious globally-recognized list released by Stanford University.

The "World's Top 2% Scientists 2025" list, authored by Stanford University researchers, ranks scholars based on standardized citation metrics from Scopus. Inclusion is determined by a composite c-score—with self-citations analyzed separately—placing scientists within the top 100,000 globally or above the 2nd percentile in their subfield.  

Ki Joon Kim is an Associate Professor of New Media and Human–Technology Interaction, Director of the B.A. Program in Digital Television and Broadcasting, and Founding Director of the Interaction Studies Lab in the Department of Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong, where he leads interdisciplinary research on the sociopsychological antecedents and consequences of human–technology interaction and technology-mediated communication. Professor Ki Joon Kim's research focuses on the sociopsychological dynamics of human-technology interaction, AI ethics, and computer-mediated communication. His influential work advances the theoretical and ethical understanding of technology adoption, social robotics, and digital media effects, establishing him as a leading authority in the field.
