COM students visit Edelman Hong Kong

On 30 November 2021, Visiting Teaching Fellow Ms Cicy Tong led a group of over 40 students from her classes on a day field trip to the Hong Kong office of Edelman, one of the top communications agencies in the world. They were welcomed by Ms Belyndia Wang, Director of Operations, and several members of her team.  

In addition to giving a full tour of the office, they provided insightful sharing on the communications and public relations industries in the region and award-winning case studies. This was followed by a series of small-group discussions and interactive activities as Edelman staff shared the ways in which they generated new ideas. To make the event more dynamic and exciting, the students were randomly assigned into groups to work on a case study brief provided by the Edelman team. The groups were given limited time to apply PR theories to developing and executing a creative live pitch presentation.
