NAAI Hong Kong Chapter Officially Launched at AI Symposium

The National Academy of Artificial Intelligence (NAAI) officially launched its Hong Kong Chapter at CityUHK, marking a significant milestone in strengthening AI research, innovation, and collaboration in Hong Kong and beyond. The event opened with a welcome remarks by Prof Wen Jung Li, Vice-President (Talent and International Strategy), and featured presentations by six distinguished speakers showcasing cutting-edge research and real-world applications in intelligent sensing, computational imaging, robotics, AI agents, smart healthcare, and next-generation networks.


A highlight of the programme was the inauguration and appointment ceremony of the NAAI Hong Kong Chapter.  The establishment is expected to strengthen research partnerships across Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and the international community, foster the development of future AI talent, and accelerate innovation, further reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a global hub for artificial intelligence.

CityUHK Welcomes Senior Delegation from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) to advance strategic academic and research collaboration

President Dr Muhammad AL-SAGGAF from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) led a high-level delegation to visit City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). Acting President Prof. Chun-Sing LEE, Vice-President (Talent and International Strategy) Prof. Wen Jung LI, Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning), Associate Director (Institute of Digital Medicine) Prof. Xinge YU and Chief Communications and Global Affairs Officer, Prof. Shirley CHONG shared institutional strengths and research priorities across materials science, digital medicine and sustainable.


This official visit marks the next step for CityUHK to expanding global partnership network across the Middle East and reinforcing the University’s commitment to cross-border knowledge exchange and joint innovation.

Ambassador of Suriname to China visits CityUHK to explore new bilateral educational cooperation opportunities

Professor Wen Jung LI, Vice-President (Talent and International Strategy) hosted an official reception for H.E. Ms Vanessa Tsin-Jie LI, Ambassador of Suriname to China. Both sides delivered detailed introductions of respective institutional and national development situations, laying a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation discussions.


The Ambassador formally expressed the willingness to serve as a key bridge and solid link between CityUHK and public university in Suriname, to promote the further deliberations on student exchanges, academic cooperation and joint training projects, and continuously deepen educational and cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Suriname.
