Bridging Innovation: CityUHK Delegation's Visit to Suzhou Kowloon Hospital, China
In a remarkable effort to enhance research collaboration and foster innovation, Professor Steven WANG, Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning) of City University of Hong Kong, led a delegation from CityUHK, which included Professor Yu HUANG, Head of the Department of Biomedical Science (BMS), Professor Jufang HE, Head of the Department of Neuroscience, and Professor Yong ZHANG, Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department and other CityUHK colleagues. The delegation also included several promising HKTech 300 start-up companies, including E3A HEALTHCARE PTE LTD, SHARPSIGHT LIMITED, Cimple Biotechnology Limited, and Vismed Training Limited, who sought to establish closer ties with Suzhou's medical and research institutions The visit was thoughtfully curated by the Suzhou team, showcasing the hospital’s professional spirit and commitment to collaboration. The discussions held during the visit were rich and engaging, highlighting mutual interests in advancing biomedical research and technology. This exchange also marks a significant step forward in building robust partnerships that can lead to groundbreaking advancements in the biomedical field with CityUHK.
Strengthening Global Ties: CityUHK at the II Forum of Strategic Partners in Kazakhstan
Professor Wen Jung Li, Vice-President for Talent and International Strategy at City University of Hong Kong, represented the university at the II Forum of Strategic Partners in Astana, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the forum, participants were inspired by President Kassym-Jomart TOKAYEV of Kazakhstan, his vision for strengthening global academic partnerships. CityUHK is proud to establish a robust partnership with Satbayev University, one of Kazakhstan’s leading technical institutions. Through the CityUHK Institute for Research and Innovation (CIRI), both universities are actively collaborating to develop impactful research initiatives and a double degree program that will connect students and faculty from both institutions. These initiatives reflect our shared commitment to advancing innovation, sustainability, and global learning opportunities, these are key elements in shaping the future of education. CityUHK is also thankful for the ongoing support of Mr Sayasat NURBEK, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, whose leadership is instrumental in facilitating meaningful international cooperation.
