Distinguished Visiting Professor Morteza Gharib Visits CityUHK

Professor Morteza (Mory) GHARIB, the Hans W. Liepmann Professor of Aeronautics and Medical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), our Distinguished Visiting Professor visited CityUHK. During his visit, Professor Gharib delivered an engaging seminar titled "From Mars Helicopter to Multi-modal Drones," sharing insights from his groundbreaking research in aerospace engineering. He also met with colleagues from College of Engineering (CENG) and Mechanical Engineering (MNE) to explore potential research collaborations, fostering innovative partnerships and advancing our collective knowledge in the field.

Exploring Collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)

During the UK trip in mid-October, President Freddy BOEY also led the CityUHK delegation, including Professor Anderson Ho-cheung SHUM, Vice-President (Research), Professor Wen Jung LI, Vice-President for Talent and International Strategy, Professor Steven WANG, Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning), and Ms Pheck Choo NG, Senior Director (Office of the President) and Director (Global Engagement Office), visited to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to discuss potential collaborations and long-term partnership opportunities. Meeting with LSE President Professor Larry KRAMER, the delegation explored various avenues for academic exchange and research cooperation.

CityUHK and Imperial College London Sign MoU to Strengthen Academic Collaboration

The recently signed MoU between CityUHK and Imperial College London (ICL) marks a significant step in deepening cooperation between the two institutions. This MoU, witnessed by President Freddy BOEY of CityUHK and President Huge BRADY of ICL, was signed by Professor Wen Jung LI, Vice-President for Talent and International Strategy and Professor Nigel BRANDON, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial. It symbolizes a commitment to strengthen academic and research collaboration opening new avenues for joint initiatives that will benefit students and researchers alike, further solidifying CityUHK's position in the global academic landscape.

The CityUHK delegation for this visit also included Professor Anderson Ho-cheung SHUM, Vice-President (Research), Professor Steven WANG, Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning), Professor Chee Yoon YUE, Dean of Graduate Studies, and Ms Pheck Choo NG, Senior Director (Office of the President) and Director (Global Engagement Office).
