Fostering Collaboration: Professor Omar Matar Visits CityUHK
Professor Omar Matar, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College, UK, and our esteemed CityUHK Distinguished Visiting Professor (DVP) visited CityUHK. He was warmly welcomed by Prof. Steven Wang, Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning), Prof Jian Lu, Dean (CENG), Prof Chan Hung Shek (CENG), Prof. Yong Yang, Head (MNE). During his visit, Professor Matar delivered an insightful seminar on “Numerical Simulations of Complex Multiphase Flows,” engaging staff and students from the College of Engineering. He also held a productive meeting with PhD students, fostering knowledge exchange and discussing exciting avenues for future collaboration between Imperial College and CityUHK. This visit represents a significant step forward in strengthening ties and enhancing academic cooperation between our universities.
Strengthening Partnerships: Visit from Southeast University, Nanjing, China
CityUHK hosted a delegation from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, led by Professor Litao SUN, Vice-President of Southeast University. The visit aimed to renew existing MoUs and enhance collaboration between our two universities. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Professor Wen Jung Li, Vice-President (Talent and International Strategy), and Professor Jennifer Lin, Associate Vice-President (Global Strategy). This visit fosters stronger ties and mutual cooperation in academic and research endeavors between CityUHK and Southeast University
Consul General of Chile in Hong Kong Visits CityUHK to Explore Collaboration
Mrs. Karina Concha, the Consul General of Chile in Hong Kong, visited CityUHK on 4 February 2025. During the visit, Mrs. Concha met with Professor Wen Jung LI, Vice-President (Talent and International Strategy), to explore collaboration opportunities aimed at enhancing academic and research exchange programmes between Chilean institutions and CityUHK. Additionally, Mrs. Concha toured the Indra and Harry Banga Gallery at CityUHK, further enriching her experience and fostering cultural exchange.
