Advancing Higher Education: CityUHK and Southeast University Forge New Partnerships
City University of Hong Kong and Southeast University have embarked on a new phase of academic collaboration. Led by President Sun Youhong, a delegation from Southeast University visited CityUHK to engage in discussions with President Freddy Boey and key university leaders. The meeting centered on strengthening academic exchanges and establishing joint research centers, culminating in the signing of two MoUs— one at the institutional level and another with the College of Engineering, emphasizing student exchanges and research collaboration. President Boey emphasized CityUHK's commitment to innovation and internationalization, aiming to nurture future-oriented engineering talent through enhanced cooperation with Southeast University.
Visit of Delegation from the University of Jinan to City University of Hong Kong
CityUHK welcomed a delegation led by Professor Zongming Liu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University of Jinan, China. Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by Mr. Michael Ngai, the Council Chairman of CityUHK, and Professor Freddy Boey, the President.
The primary objectives of this visit were to explore and strengthen cooperative ties between the two institutions, focusing particularly on social sciences, physical sciences, and technology. Discussions during the visit centered on establishing agreements for student exchange and research collaboration, paving the way for future partnerships that will enhance the academic and research capabilities of both universities.
Kuwaiti Consulate General Delegation Visits CityUHK
City University of Hong Kong recently welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Consulate General of Kuwait, led by His Excellency Mr. Naser S Al-Ghanim. This significant visit aimed to strengthen relationships with the Middle East and explore exciting collaboration opportunities for students.
Mr. Michael Ngai, Chairman of the Council, proudly noted CityUHK's recognition as the "Most International University in the World 2025." President Freddy Boey discussed promising partnerships in artificial intelligence, data science, and renewable energy. The delegation also toured cutting-edge research facilities, including an innovative autonomous racing car, and enjoyed campus amenities such as a halal restaurant.
