CityUHK Explores Academic Ties with Mexico’s Universidad Panamericana
Prof. Wen Jung LI, Vice-President (Talent and International Strategy) and Prof. Xinge YU, Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning), and Associate Director (Institute of Digital Medicine),hosted a delegation from Universidad Panamericana (UP), a leading private university in Mexico, for discussions on potential academic and research collaboration.
The two institutions identified key areas of mutual interest across STEM, arts and humanities, and business disciplines, and explored the potential establishment of a joint research seed fund to support collaborative initiatives. Aligned research interests could pave the way for joint research projects, scholar mobility, and cross‑border PhD co‑supervision, with regional grant schemes flagged as potential funding sources. This dialogue marks an important step in expanding CityUHK’s academic network with Latin America, opening global learning prospects for faculty and students from both institutions.
CityUHK Delegation Explores Collaboration During Xinjiang Visit
A high‑level delegation from City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), led by Prof. Wen Jung Li, Vice‑President (Talent and International Strategy), visited Xinjiang University and Xinjiang Agricultural University to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration.
Comprising senior administrators and distinguished professors across engineering, computer science, chemistry, veterinary medicine and public health, the delegation held bilateral talks with leadership and academic representatives from both host institutions and visited major academic faculties and research platforms to learn about local strengths in energy studies, information technology, food science and animal‑veterinary disciplines.
Discussion focused on potential cooperation in joint research, faculty and student exchange, as well as talent training to leverage their respective disciplinary strengths and expertise for mutual beneficial partnerships.
This visit further strengthened academic ties between higher‑education institutions of Hong Kong and Xinjiang, providing a solid foundation for future cross‑regional knowledge sharing and joint educational‑research initiatives.
MOU with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics
On 23 September 2026, City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster deeper academic and research ties between the two institutions.
The MOU maps out potential collaborative pathways, includes co‑supervision and joint training of postgraduate students, joint laboratory development, collaborative research grants, and joint publications.
This partnership also underscores CityUHK’s ongoing commitment to strengthening cross‑border academic collaboration and nurturing top‑tier talent.
