Lecture Theatre 18 has been named “Mr & Mrs Chan Hon Pun Lecture Theatre” in appreciation of the generous donations made by Mr Chan Hon-pun and his wife Mrs Chan Hon Yuk-yee.
A festive banquet bringing together more than 800 supporters, alumni, students, faculty and staff of CityU in celebration of its 30th anniversary was held on 1 November.
The Alumni Function Room at Academic 3 has been named “Eminence Galaxy” in recognition of the generous contributions of the CityU Eminence Society to the University.
A bronze statue of Dr Sun Yat-sen unveiled on 2 May at CityU commemorates the contributions of the founding father of modern China.
CityU named its Lecture Theatre 16 of Academic 1 after Mr Benjamin Kwok Chan-yiu, in recognition of Mr Kwok’s generous support to the University and his contributions to society.

The main lecture theatre in Academic 3 at CityU was named “Wong Cheung Lo Hui Yuet Hall” after the late Mr Wong Cheung and Mrs Wong Lo Hui-yuet in commemoration of their patriotism and humanitarianism.
The English Language Centre is named after Mrs Chan Feng Men-ling and her daughter, Miss Chan Shuk-lin, in appreciation of Mrs Chan’s significant support and contribution to the University.
Multi-function Hall A of the Student Residence has been named Moon Chun Multi-function Hall in memory of the late wife of a staunch CityU supporter.
A ceremony was held at CityU on 11 March to mark the opening of a Japanese tea room, the first to be located at a university in Hong Kong.
