Professor Wang Wen-xiong, Chair Professor of Environmental Toxicology in the SEE and TUYF Chair Professor in Oceanography at CityUHK, has been bestowed the SETAC Founders Award. This is the highest individual honour presented by the SETAC, in recognition of his extraordinary achievements and foundational contributions to the fields of metal ecotoxicology, nanomaterials and microplastics in marine systems over his 30-year career.

As the first career event in this year and CityUHK’s sole STEM-focused fair, it served over 4,000 students across 13 departments and 27 disciplines from the organising colleges and schools.

An international research team led by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CityUHK has successfully developed a breakthrough technology, called “Liquid Droplet Mops”, which only uses a minimal amount of water to effectively remove dust and pollutants from solar panel surfaces, significantly enhancing cleaning efficiency while conserving water.
