Strengthening Strategic Partnership: City University of Hong Kong and Satbayev University Met and Sign MoUs for Educational and Research Excellence
City University of Hong Kong and Satbayev University (SU) further strengthened their strategic partnership on 16th April, as representatives from both institutions came together for a meeting at CityUHK. The meeting involved three departments - Architecture and Civil Engineering (ACE), Computer Science (CS), and Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) - to discuss opportunities for student programmes and research collaboration. The fruitful discussions paved the way the next day for the signing of MoUs on 17th April. The MoUs were signed by President Professor Freddy Boey of CityUHK and Rector Meiram Begentayev of SU, and were witnessed by esteemed guests, including Mr. Lester Garson Huang, Council Chairman of CityUHK and Mr. Almas Seitakynov, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hong Kong and Macao.

CityUHK hosted a momentous event featuring Mr. Sayasat Nurbek, the esteemed Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, who visited the campus to deliver an inspiring speech titled "Reviving the Silk Road through Education: Kazakhstan's Role in Building the Middle Corridor."
Visit to CityUHK from UN Sanitation and Hygiene Fund, Switzerland
Mr. Dominic O'Neill, Executive Director of the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund, together with his team, came to visit CityUHK. Our President, Freddy Boey, extended a warm welcome to Mr. O'Neill and hosted a luncheon meeting to initiate discussions on potential collaborations. The meeting provided an invaluable opportunity to exchange ideas for partnership between CityUHK and the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund. This initial meeting marks the beginning of an exciting collaboration aimed at making a tangible difference in improving sanitation and hygiene practices worldwide.
