Research.Collaboration.Impact.United Action for a Greener and Intergenerational Hong Kong

On 12 June 2026, Chinachem Group (CCG), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), and Hang Seng Bank (Hang Seng) jointly hosted the Future-Ready Hong Kong Summit 2026: Driving a Low-Carbon Ecosystem, Inspiring the Silver Generation at Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West.

The summit featured an international line-up of speakers, including Nobel Laureates and leading academics. A key highlight was the launch of the joint white paper, Creating a Green and Silver Economy: Policy, Finance, Technology, and the Built Environment, which outlines a practical roadmap for Hong Kong’s sustainable and inclusive future. As climate challenges and demographic shifts intensify, the need for integrated, cross-sector solutions is increasingly urgent.

Nearly 500 participants attended, including Guest of Honour Mr Cheuk Wing-hing, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR Government, alongside senior government officials, business leaders, and academics. Through keynotes and panel discussions, the summit explored how Hong Kong can better address these interconnected challenges.

The event highlights a strong cross-sector collaboration: CCG contributes expertise in the built environment, CityUHK advances research and innovation, and Hang Seng Bank leads in green finance and financial inclusion. Together, the partnership promotes a more integrated approach – linking environmental sustainability with demographic change and social inclusion.
