Visit of Professor Clemens Kaminski, University of Cambridge to CityUHK
Professor Clemens Kaminski, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology and Professor of Chemical Physics at the University of Cambridge, visited CityUHK as our Distinguished Visiting Professor (DVP). He was warmly welcomed by our President, Prof. Freddy Boey, and engaged in meaningful meeting and discussions with the College of Science. During his visit, he delivered an engaging seminar titled "Kingdom Darwin’s Enduring Influence: Pioneering Modern Molecular Engineering." His presence greatly enriched our staff and students, while also enhancing our research collaboration and academic enlightenment.
CityUHK at European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference and Exhibition in Toulouse
CityUHK is the convenor of the HUCOM Standing Committee on Internationalisation (HUCOMSCI) for 2024/2025. Representing HUCOMSCI, Prof. Wen Jung LI attended the EAIE (European Association for International Education) International Conference from September 17-20 with Secretary for Education Dr. CHOI Yuk-lin and Secretary-General of UGC Prof. James TANG to promote Hong Kong's advantages as an international post-secondary education hub. Dr. Choi and Prof. Tang also met members of the HUCOMSCI attending the EAIE Conference and Exhibition in Toulouse. They discussed how to deepen institutional collaboration for further promotion of the Study in Hong Kong brand worldwide and how to accelerate the development of Hong Kong into an international hub for post-secondary education.
Bridging Futures: Professor Colm Durkan's Inspiring Visit to CityUHK
Professor Colm Durkan, Head of the Department of Engineering and Professor of Nanoengineering Science at the University of Cambridge, and our Distinguished Visiting Professor (DVP) visited City University of Hong Kong. He was warmly welcomed by our President Prof. Freddy Boey and engaged in fruitful discussions with the academic staff from the College of Engineering. In addition to touring the CityUHK Dongguan Campus, Professor Durkan delivered an insightful lecture for staff and students. He also proposed an exciting initiative for a "2+2 Joint Student Programme" between CityUHK and the University of Cambridge, which would foster future academic collaboration and create enriching opportunities for students from both institutions.
