Bridging Futures: Professor Colm Durkan's Inspiring Visit to CityUHK
Professor Colm Durkan, Head of the Department of Engineering and Professor of Nanoengineering Science at the University of Cambridge, and our Distinguished Visiting Professor (DVP) visited City University of Hong Kong. He was warmly welcomed by our President Prof. Freddy Boey and engaged in fruitful discussions with the academic staff from the College of Engineering. In addition to touring the CityUHK Dongguan Campus, Professor Durkan delivered an insightful lecture for staff and students. He also proposed an exciting initiative for a "2+2 Joint Student Programme" between CityUHK and the University of Cambridge, which would foster future academic collaboration and create enriching opportunities for students from both institutions.
CityUHK Partners with Prestigious Belgian University for Innovative Collaboration
City University of Hong Kong is strengthening its global academic partnerships by formalizing a cooperative relationship with KU Leuven, a prestigious university with nearly 600 years of history. A high-level delegation, led by President Freddy Boey, visited KU Leuven and signed a MoU with Rector Luc Sels. This agreement aims to enhance existing connections and explore opportunities for joint bachelor’s programs, faculty exchanges, and collaborative research initiatives, benefiting both institutions.
Visit of Beijing Institute of Technology, Mainland China
Prof. Mei-shuai Zou, Vice-President of Beijing Institute of Technology in Mainland China, visited the City University of Hong Kong. He received a warm welcome from Prof. Wen-Jung Li, Vice-President (Talent and International Strategy) of CityUHK. This meeting marked an important step forward in the potential for future collaboration between the two institutions.
