CityU plans to confer honorary doctoral degrees on Mr Ronald Arculli, the Hon Mrs Rita Fan, Professor Henry T. Yang and Mr Zhang Yimou in recognition of their significant contribution to learning and the well-being of society.
At the Senate meeting on 15 March, Professor H K Chang, President, reiterated that CityU has been developing in line with the role statement it received from the University Grants Committee in January 2004.
In the warm afternoon of 15 February, more than 1,000 staff members took a break from their work and rejoiced at the Chinese New Year Party, held at University Circle and in Chan Tai Ho Multi-purpose Hall.

These were some of the questions raised by the more than 100 staff members who attended the open forum on these issues. The forum, held 14 April, was organized by the Human Resources Office.
Outside, the wind was chilly, but inside the Chan Tai Ho Multi-purpose Hall, where the New Year Staff Party took place on 28 January, the atmosphere was warm. A jovial spirit captivated some 1,000 colleagues who gathered there for what has become an annual ritual of good fortune, fun and camaraderie.

Every graduation ceremony honours an end to years of study and hard work. For the 6,024 students who received their degrees, diplomas and certificates at CityU's 18th Congregation, it also marked the beginning of fresh challenges.
