Universities are becoming even more important because of today's knowledge-driven economy and enhanced competition throughout the world, according to Professor Patrick Dowling at CityU's Distinguished Lecture held on 17 February.
CityU, together with Feng Chia University and National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, spearheaded the launch of the “Super eBook Consortium” on 14 December 2005.
The opening ceremony of the University of Science and Technology of China -- City University of Hong Kong Joint Advanced Research Centre was held on 17 October. The Centre, located in Suzhou, marks an important milestone in advancing CityU's research base.
CityU signed an agreement with the Shenzhen Municipality Government on 6 September to enter the “Incubation-Education-Research base for Hong Kong universities”, bringing CityU’s Shenzhen Outpost one step closer to fruition.
