Students taking the undergraduate course, SEE3103 Energy Efficiency for Buildings, offered by the School participated in the visit to the International Commerce Centre (ICC) on 24 October 2015 (Saturday).
In order to enhance the understanding of the sewage treatment facilities in Hong Kong, a group of 22 MSc Energy and Environment students and research degree students taking the course, SEE6213/SEE8221 Wastewater Engineering and Water Quality Assessment, from the School of Energy and Environment visited the Shatin Sewage Treatment Works on 13 October 2015 (Tuesday). During the visit, students are inspired by the introduction of the sewage treatment process and storm water drainage services in Hong Kong.
Students taking the Gateway Education course, GE1301 Climate Change and Extreme Weather, offered by the School participated in the visit to the Museum of Climate Change of CUHK on 21 March 2015 (Saturday). The participating students visited the Museum of Climate Change, where they learned about the effects of climate change and some of the strategies being developed to combat it. Subsequently, they participated in an Eco Tour of the CUHK campus, highlighting solar cells, recycling and green building.
Students taking the undergraduate course, SEE4112 Energy Systems Analysis, offered by the School participated in the visit to the Education Path of Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) on 17 March 2015 (Tuesday).
Students taking the undergraduate course, SEE4001 Engineers in Society, offered by the School participated in the visit to the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) on 19 March 2015 (Thursday).
A group of 36 postgraduate students studying the course, SEE6102/8112 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Technologies, went behind the classroom scenes to visit the building management system room, main electric switchboard, chillers and cooling towers at CityU on 14 March 2015.
Students taking the undergraduate course, SEE2201 Introduction to Environmental Engineering, offered by the School participated in the visits to the “ElectriCity” of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited on 3 & 12 March 2015 (Tuesday & Thursday) respectively.
Students taking the postgraduate course, SEE5114 Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development, offered by the School participated in a visit to the Hong Kong Maritime Museum on 7 March 2015 (Saturday). The visit started with a guided tour to the museum which is divided into three floors, namely A, B and C-Deck. Deck A is the Navigation Gallery showing the Maritime Communications, Navigation and Meteorology technologies. During the visit at B and C-Decks, students explored a wide variety of maritime themes from safety on the sea to the underwater world.&nbs
