The inaugural CRF kick-off meeting, chaired by Principal Coordinator (PC) Professor Charles Chunbao Xu, took place on the afternoon of April 16, 2025, at the Interdisciplinary Multi-function Room (G7603). The meeting was attended by all Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs), their research team members, collaborators from the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, and industry partners, including Plant Plant Holding Company Limited.

Since 2018, the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at CityUHK has partnered with CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) to provide undergraduate students with practical training in energy audits. Now in its seventh year, this longstanding collaboration continues to deliver valuable hands-on experience in energy engineering.

Prof. Michael Leung is newly appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Solar Compass. The journal aims to bridge the information gap in the global pursuit of net zero by facilitating the rapid deployment of solar technologies. Solar Compass focuses on technologies ready for commercialization, policy and economic advancements, manufacturing scale-ups, and replicable case studies. The journal will serve as a vital resource for stakeholders and the general public, supporting global energy access and sustainability goals.

We are pleased to announce the winner of the Most Popular Video Award in the CityUHK SEE Sustainability for Future Video Competition 2024. This award celebrates the student whose video earned the highest number of votes during the competition. Congratulations to Miss Li Sum Wan from St. Stephen’s Girls’ College, whose video, titled “綠色校園小秘笈,” received this recognition.

Gin, Provost's Chair and Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), for a distinguished lecture titled “Combatting Microbial Contaminants in Coastal Waters under Climate Change”. The guest speaker was invited by Prof. Xuneng Tong, Assistant Professor of SEE, to share her extensive expertise and pioneering research.
