In order to raise the awareness of organic waste recycling and ways of recycling in Hong Kong, a group of MSc Energy and Environment students and research degree students taking the course, SEE5114/SEE8114 Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development, led by Dr. Carol Lin, visited the Hong Kong Organic Waste Recycling Centre (HKOWRC) on 30 January 2016 (Saturday).

Students taking the undergraduate course, SEE2201 Introduction to Environmental Engineering, offered by the School participated in the visits to the “ElectriCity” of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited on 24 & 25 February 2016 (Wednesday & Thursday) respectively.

A group of 38 postgraduate students studying the course, SEE6101/8111 Energy Generation and Storage Systems, led by Dr. Denis Yu, visited the Castle Peak Power Plant (“ElectriCity”) on 21 November 2015. They were greeted by great sunshine and nice weather.

Students taking the undergraduate courses, SEE3201 Atmospheric Science – An Introductory Survey and GE1301 Climate Science and Extreme Weather, offered by the School participated in the visit to Hong Kong Observatory on 17 and 21 November 2015 respectively.  The visit was guided by Mr. Ken Wong who is now an Experimental Officer (EO) of the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO).

Dr. Sam Hsu demonstrates a novel liquid junction solar cell based on metal halide perovskite p-MeNH3PbI3 photocathode. The work makes use of organic redox mediators that is compatible with the fragile perovskite absorber layer.
