How to transfer old mail from my University email account(s) to my M365 mailbox?

You can transfer your old mail from your University email account(s) (Exchange (@um.cityu.edu.hk) or JSMS (@cityu.edu.hk)) in either of the following ways:

  1. Using Microsoft Outlook (2010 or higher version)
  2. Using "Connected Accounts" feature provided by Microsoft 365 Outlook Web App (M365 OWA)

The first method provides the most feasible way for you to manage your email in both mailboxes. You can freely select and transfer (copy or move) your wanted email between the two mailboxes. If you have been using MS Outlook (2010 or higher version) to handle your University email already, using this method is most appropriate.

The second method uses the "Connected Accounts" feature provided by Microsoft 365 Outlook Web App (M365 OWA) to transfer ALL your old mail from your University account(s) to your M365 mailbox. This method does not require using Email client software. However, it will transfer ALL your email to M365 and you cannot choose which email you want to transfer.
