The mission of the Language Centre is to equip students with language skills in preparation for their participation in an increasingly globalised, fast-changing society. It aims to enhance and support the learning of different languages for academic, professional, and personal development.

Apart from the high quality, practical English language training the Language Centre always delivers, it also takes over the courses in Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Putonghua and Cantonese, which were previously offered by various departments at CityU. By housing all language courses under one roof, it endeavours to consolidate existing language teaching and facilitate further development of language and culture-related courses across the University.

Students are also welcome to use its facilities and access its vast resources, including books for leisure reading and exam preparation, multimedia materials, and terminals linked to online language resources, in their independent learning of English.

Take the first step to prepare yourself to compete in the domestic and international job market, and communicate effectively with the international community, check out the courses and facilities offered by the Language Centre here.
