The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) offers a diverse range of orientation programmes to help our freshmen get connected with the College, their home department and their fellow classmates.
It is important for our students to grasp every possible opportunity if they want to have a rewarding and fruitful university life. Participation in the orientation programmes helps them to become familiar with their new environment of study, understand the resources and opportunities available, meet new friends and make a good start!
Dear New Undergraduate Students,
It is a great pleasure for me to extend a warm welcome to all of you to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) at City University of Hong Kong.
During these unsettling times with on-going concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering a virtual approach to student orientation activities this year. As you prepare to begin your new academic life with us, there is important information for you to review and several important tasks to complete. The CLASS Student Orientation webinar helps you get to know more about the College and the undergraduate education we offer.
To help you get a smooth transition to the University, we have prepared a check list with key information items and key dates for you as freshers. Do take note of the necessary actions and act accordingly. Your home departments have also planned activities to support your learning. Stay engaged and connected.
I want to assure you that in CLASS, the safety and wellbeing of all students and colleagues is paramount. We shall maintain flexibility in order to respond to changing circumstances and ensure to deliver high quality education to students at all times.
Have a great first year with us. Please stay safe and well.
Best regards,
Professor Richard M. Walker
