CityU has been awarded a grant of more than HK$8 million from the Research Grants Council to lead a research project that assesses the reliability of electronic systems in order to prevent breakdowns that can lead to inefficiency or, in worst-case scenarios, fatal disasters.
The inauguration ceremony of CityU’s Second Standing Committee of the Convocation was held on 9 February, setting the stage for their continued effort to strengthen the ties between alumni and their collective bond to the University.
A team of student ambassadors pledged on 5 February to promote the image of CityU, bolster community relations, foster a sense of belonging among its members, and personally commit themselves to whole-person development, at their Inauguration Ceremony.
"Successful communication depends more upon content and sincerity than language itself," said Professor Way Kuo, University President, addressing secondary students and their teachers at a Distinguished Lecture organised by The Jockey Club Eduyoung College.
The Mainland and External Affairs Office conducted International Week 2010 from 1 February to 5 February. Highlights of the event on 4 February included the flag procession, global runway parade and international New Year fair.
