CityU Student Development Services organised the welcoming ceremony for new students to help prepare them for their new life at the University. Professor Way Kuo encouraged students to maximise their University years and contribute to society upon graduation.
To welcome new students, CityU held an orientation sculpture display ceremony on 19 August. Memorabilia items donated by CityU members were encased in colourful wax and incorporated into a large sculpture. It will become a permanent exhibit on campus.
University President, Professor Way Kuo, visited the Orientation Camp organised by the Students' Union at Po Leung Kuk Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp in Sai Kung, where he participated in and refereed the tug-of-war battle.

New measures have been introduced into this year’s student elections at CityU: an election website where candidates can promote their platforms and electronic polling to simplify vote-counting.
