Distinguished speakers with outstanding achievements attended a CityU seminar on 8 May to share their views with senior secondary students on how teenagers can maintain the momentum in their lives in face of constant challenges.
President H K Chang led more than 300 staff in an exchange of ideas on the future of CityU at the 10th University Development Forum on 23 October, saying it was time to embrace the University's new strategic five-year plan, "Meeting the Challenge of Change".
Professor H K Chang, City University of Hong Kong's President and University Professor, was awarded a Gold Bauhinia Star by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) at the 2002 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony held at Government House on 12 October.
Among its many suggestions, the recent Sutherland Report on Higher Education in Hong Kong recommends that each university's governing body carry out a review of the "fitness" of its governance and management structure.
In an expanded Management Board meeting on 23 September that included heads of academic and administrative departments, the President discussed at length with some 50 senior colleagues the developments and challenges facing City University today and over the next few years.
