Two students from the Division of Language Studies took home prizes at a speech contest held in Macau.
CityU students have displayed that rarest of talents, the ability to excel in intellectual and physical challenges, by winning championships in this year's Inter-collegiate Debate Competitions and the Hong Kong Post-Secondary Colleges Athletic Association Competitions.

Their development of a Web-based catering system has earned a team of students from the Division of Computer Studies (DCO) the championship title in the Division's Project of the Year Competition and Exhibition at TechExpo 2002.
CityU sports teams have once again scored flying colours in this year's Inter-collegiate Sports Competition: Overall Champion in the men's teams, Overall First Runner Up in the women's teams, plus championship titles in events such as athletics, badminton, basketball, soccer and table tennis. Residents of Wan Chai are trading goods and services for coupons in a novel scheme designed to help the community during the current bleak economic climate. The Hours Coupons project is jointly organized by Dr Wong Hung, a Lecturer in the Division of Social Sciences, and social workers from the St James Settlement.

Four academic departments-- Biology and Chemistry (BCH), Electronic Engineering (EE), Economics and Finance (EF), and Accountancy (AC) and the Centre for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) are collaborating in a project to enhance students' learning and growth. The project, the Virtual Learning Support Centre for Students (VLSC), is a cyber location for participating departments to post web pages specifically devoted to students' learning.
