Scholars at CityUHK achieved outstanding results in the latest RGC AoE Scheme and TRS. A total of three flagship research projects received funding, representing a record high for the University, while the total funding secured was the highest among all universities in Hong Kong.

In recognition of their distinguished achievements, two outstanding scholars from CityUHK have been awarded funding from the RGC under the 2026/27 RFS. The CityUHK scholars awarded under the RFS are: Professor Hou Junhui from the Department of Computer Science, College of Computing; and Professor Zhao Xiangyu from the Department of Data Science, College of Computing.

Professor Zhu Yuntian, Chair Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at CityUHK, has been honoured at the 2025 National Science and Technology Award Conference.
