Vision

To be one of the leading Departments in the world specializing in cutting-edge research and professional education in targeted areas of biomedical engineering.

Mission

  1. To provide a professional education curriculum that equips graduates to contribute to Hong Kong, the Greater China, and the whole world in biomedical engineering and related sectors;
  2. To develop internationally competitive and leading-edge research and educate students in targeted areas of biomedical engineering;
  3. To promote the collaboration with other AUs in CENG and the University to develop cross-disciplinary academic programmes and multidisciplinary research projects;
  4. To serve as an international collaboration platform to encourage the collaboration among the leading institutes in the whole world and to enhance our global research reputation; and
  5. To facilitate the translation of research in biomedical engineering to practices of related industries.
