Student Activities

Subject to availability of funding, the Department and central units such as the Student Development Services subsidize undergraduate students to participate in overseas as well as local activities which we believe can enable them to gain valuable out-of-classroom experiences related to their major of studies. CityU Underwater Robotics Team - PIONEER, which is supervised by Prof. Pakpong CHIRARATTANANON and subsidized by BME, has received the IEEE OES Engineering Quality Award and SGD400 cash prize in the Singapore Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Challenge 2024.

The CityU Underwater Robotics Team formed by students from the BME department as well as students from sister engineering departments, supervised by Dr. Pakpong Chirarattananon, Dr. Yajing Shen and two other faculty members from the Department of Electronic Engineering, participated in the MATE World Championship 2022.
