Professor Dennis Wong appointed Honorary Advisor to the Correctional Services Department

Professor Dennis WONG, Acting Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS), has been appointed Honorary Advisor to the Training Programme of the Staff Training Institute of the Correctional Services Department for two years from 30 September 2016.

In this role, Professor Wong shall advise the Institute on matters related to the curriculum design of the training programmes. The Institute will draw on his expertise in social work and criminology to improve the delivery of related courses.

At the Monthly Operational Meeting of the Correctional Services Department held on 24 August 2016, Professor Wong shared his insights about the 10 irrefutable laws of leadership. He advocated the importance of training in conflict management and related management techniques, which are particularly useful to the work of correctional services staff.
