More than 20 experts in Chinese art and culture converged on CityU to discuss modernity and modern Chinese art at an international symposium and exhibition.
Ten distinguished writers and scholars from across the Strait and overseas tackled these questions at a symposium held 22-23 June entitled “Cultural Traditions and Chinese Creative Writing.
The Selection Committee of the University of Toronto's Alexander Lectures chose Zhang Longxi, Director of CityU's Centre for Cross-Cultural Studies, to deliver the Lectures under the theme "Textual Encounters/Cultural Encounters".
ThinkTo further promote research on cultural interactions between the East and the West, the Centre for Cross-Cultural Studies, in cooperation with City University of Hong Kong Press, plans to publish a cross-cultural study series. With CCCS Director, Professor Zhang Longxi, as the chief editor, the series will consist of significant historical documents as well as original insightful writings on cultural interactions between China and the West.
To further promote research on cultural interactions between the East and the West, the Centre for Cross-Cultural Studies, in cooperation with City University of Hong Kong Press, plans to publish a cross-cultural study series.
In an effort to boost its ties with North American institutions interested in cross-cultural studies, President H K Chang led a five-member delegation on a whirlwind tour of five universities in Canada and the US.
