CityU Student Development Services organised the welcoming ceremony for new students to help prepare them for their new life at the University. Professor Way Kuo encouraged students to maximise their University years and contribute to society upon graduation.

To welcome new students, CityU held an orientation sculpture display ceremony on 19 August. Memorabilia items donated by CityU members were encased in colourful wax and incorporated into a large sculpture. It will become a permanent exhibit on campus.

University President, Professor Way Kuo, visited the Orientation Camp organised by the Students' Union at Po Leung Kuk Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp in Sai Kung, where he participated in and refereed the tug-of-war battle.
CityU has already started its preparation for the mainland student recruitment exercise next year. Professor Richard Ho, Dean of Undergraduate Education, introduced the recruitment plan to the media on 25 Nov.
The Faculty of Business (FB) at CityU has pioneered a series of sharing sessions entitled Exchanges Forum 2005 that facilitate intercultural communication and provide social networking opportunities for overseas exchange students and local students.
Double congratulations are due to Dr Kenji Yum. Not only will he graduate from CityU this week with a PhD in Electronic Engineering, he has also been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in the 2005 Hong Kong Young Scientist Awards.
