In support of CityU’s mission to promote cultural diversity and internationalization, the International and Non-local Students Office (INSO) organized a welcoming ceremony on 2 September for more than 200 students.
A CityU researcher has won one of the most prestigious prizes in the field of electronic engineering and multimedia with a paper on mathematical modeling to help store and generate images for use in graphic design and computer-based animation.

Four academic departments-- Biology and Chemistry (BCH), Electronic Engineering (EE), Economics and Finance (EF), and Accountancy (AC) and the Centre for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) are collaborating in a project to enhance students' learning and growth. The project, the Virtual Learning Support Centre for Students (VLSC), is a cyber location for participating departments to post web pages specifically devoted to students' learning.

Academic departments will need to go through the evaluation process for the Reward Scheme to Maximize Students' Learning once every three years, instead of once every year. Moreover, it has been proposed that the amount of the award should be $3 million, or 10 per cent of the current departmental annual budget, whichever is less.
