Student Development

Student Development

When you contribute to scholarships, bursaries or awards, your gift provides talented students with an opportunity to receive university education, participate in student exchange programmes, and join extracurricular activities. We put strong emphasis on ensuring that all of our students are given the opportunity to reach their potential, without being held back by financial circumstances throughout their studies at CityU. Adequate financial support allows students to focus on their studies and spend less time working.

Student Exchanges and Internships

Student Exchanges and Internships

We recognize the importance of overseas learning for nurturing students and helping them develop a global vision. So far, we have exchange links with nearly 450 universities worldwide. We will continue to strengthen and expand our academic collaboration with overseas institutions. Your donation will enable us to offer our undergraduate and/or postgraduate students the opportunity to study abroad for transformational change and personal development.

Our Global Working Attachment Programme further enhances our students’ employability, international outlook and global competence, by giving them the opportunity to participate as interns in overseas host companies in countries such as Australia, Mainland China, Germany and Japan. Your contribution will allow us to offer exciting overseas internship opportunities, which is crucial for our students’ career development.

Athletics and Recreation

Athletics and Recreation

CityU creates a healthy campus community by encouraging students to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities. We are one of the strongest universities in sports among the 13 tertiary institutions in Hong Kong, and the only University that has been Double Champion in nine Grand Slams in the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK) Sports Competition. Your gift for athletics and recreation will allow us to attract outstanding athletes to CityU, hire and retain quality coaches and trainers, and upgrade the University’s athletic facilities and equipment.

Student Early Entrepreneurship Development Scheme

Student Early Entrepreneurship Development Scheme

Your gift will provide an opportunity for our students to pursue their dream of starting an entrepreneurial venture after graduation. Student Early Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (SEEDS) funding can be used to pay for equipment, R&D and prototype development, IP protection, marketing and other reasonable expenses for early-stage development. We trust that the SEEDS can intensify the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among our students, and lead to new products or services and new intellectual property development.
