The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) proudly held its Commencement on 15 June 2026, bringing together graduates, families, and distinguished guests in a celebration of academic excellence.



Four outstanding undergraduates from City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) were awarded the Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2026, in recognition of their innovative ideas and dedication to science and technology. Each awardee will receive HK$150,000 to undertake a series of elite-nurturing initiatives, including overseas and Chinese Mainland attachments, internships and mentorship programmes. They will also have the opportunity to engage in community outreach activities to translate their insights into practice and give back to society.



The College congratulates the interdisciplinary student team “PetHealthAI” on receiving the First Prize at the 12th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.



The College held its latest Town Hall Meeting for Semester B 2025/26  on 29 May 2026. The Town Hall Meetings continue to serve as a vital platform, bringing together staff to celebrate achievements, share key updates and discuss future priorities. A highlight of this semester’s event was the presentation of the College Excellence Awards 2026, which recognise outstanding contributions in teaching, research and service. These awards honour staff members who demonstrate dedication and innovation in their work, furthering the College’s mission and acaemic and reserach excellence.



On March 25, 2026, the 5th Annual JCC White Coat Ceremony marked a proud moment for the Year 5 Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) studentsThis special occasion celebrated the 2021 Cohort’s transition from coursework to clinical training, where they were cloaked in white coats and recited the Veterinarian’s Oath, affirming their professional commitment. 



Cats are not just beloved companions; they are emerging as key "research partners" in unravelling viral cancer mechanisms. A team led by Professor Julia Beatty, Chair Professor of Veterinary Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), recently published a review in the prestigious journal Nature Reviews Cancer. Titled "Cat viruses as windows into human oncogenesis", the article explores how feline tumour viruses offer vital insights into human oncology and viral carcinogenesis from a comparative oncology perspective.

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has announced the recipients of the Teaching Excellence Award (TEA) for the 2025/26 academic year. Three teachers and one teaching team have been honoured this year for their outstanding achievements. Excelling in the fields of chemistry, architecture and civil engineering, entrepreneurship education and veterinary medicine, the awardees have demonstrated remarkable innovation by integrating approaches such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), interdisciplinary collaboration, and team-based learning, thereby creating more forward-looking and inspiring learning experiences for students.



The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences successfully hosted a Continuous Professional Development event focused on the diagnosis and therapy of feline lymphoma at the Rongjin Hotel, Tianhe District, Guangzhou. The event attracted more than 70 attendees, showcasing a strong interest in feline veterinary medicine.



City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) continues to strengthen its connections with the community through creative and engaging initiatives. Following the popularity of CityUHK Milk and the well‑loved CityUHK Ice Cream with its diverse flavours, the University today (3 March) officially launched its newest dairy product — Yogurt Gelato. The launch is accompanied by an interactive experience themed “My Neighbourhood, My CityUHK”, inviting the University community to explore the new product while experiencing the creative and vibrant atmosphere of the CityUHK campus.
